Emma S. Courtney
Emma Courtney joined the firm in 2023, following her graduation from the University of Georgia School of Law. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2020, earning a B.A. in Political Science. While in law school, Ms. Courtney was a graduate research assistant for Professor James McNiff and served as the Treasurer of the First-Generation Student Association. She has experience working as a legal intern at the Georgia Secretary of State’s office and the law offices of O’Kelley and Sorohan. She also participated in the First Amendment Clinic at the University of Georgia advocating for ICE detainees suffering medical abuse. Additionally, Ms. Courtney served as the Athens state court extern for Judge Simpson and Judge Auslander.
Ms. Courtney is a member of the Rotary Club of Gainesville and serves as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family, and is having fun being a new resident of Gainesville.
